If you're making the investment of putting super-foods into your blender, don't undermine your efforts by adding counterproductive ingredients. Though sometimes found in commercial smoothie blends , these  foods have a low density with potentially negative health consequences , so avoid the following whenever possible. 

  • Cane sugar and cane juice
  • Corn syrup
  • Dairy ( Including milk,yogurt, and ice cream )
  • Eggs
  • Food Coloring
  • Isolated soy protein
  • Protein powders that include any of these ingredients 
  • Pudding or cake mixes
  • Whey Protein.
